Thinking Of Others

How blessed is he who considers the helpless;
The Lord will deliver him in a day of trouble.
The Lord will protect him and keep him alive,
And he shall be called blessed upon the earth;
And do not give him over to the desire of his enemies.
The Lord will sustain him upon his sickbed;
In his illness, You restore him to health. Psalm 41:1-3

King David was a warrior and king who was at his best when he thought about others and saw their needs. He often delivered people who were oppressed and unable to defend themselves. He observed that God was with him, delivering he, himself. God protected him, kept him alive, made his name a blessing, thwarted his enemies, sustained him when sick and restored him to health.

How well do I see the needs of others and consider the helpless? Do I allow my schedule to be interrupted so that I can help? Can I see the hand of God in my life preserving, delivering, providing, sustaining, etc.? Yes. I do.

God, as this second day of project work begins in Acuna… may You lead and guide me, make me useful in every situation and help me see the helpless as I reach out and love them in Your name.
