Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.
Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Ephesians 6:10-13
We live in the physical world with God-given senses that help us perceive sight, sound, touch, taste, etc. Paul says there is an unseen world that is just as real. In his stellar letter to the Ephesian church, he reveals that God’s power and strength is available to every believer, because we are adopted into His heavenly family and His Spirit abides in us. We are to stand in the strength of His might. And stand we will, for He is able to make us stand.
Have I fully grasped how deep and wide the love of God is? How aware of the invisible world am I?
God, as this day continues, may I be one who stands strong. I realize that the struggles I face have their origins and often their final disposition in the spiritual realm which I cannot see. Help me walk in love and see the power of heaven on display in the this world.
