You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:14-17
Some people had the advantage of growing up in church. I did not. Many of the best lessons we will ever learn can be understood as a small child. For instance, how we treat one another according to the golden rule is a profound and fundamental learning. Scripture is the Christian’s guide for living. It teaches and trains, corrects and prepares us for every good work. That’s why it important to be exposed to the Bible daily, especially in light of the many contradictory messages in our world today.
What lessons am I learning at this time from God’s holy Word? Have I set daily patterns in my life so that I might read, hear and be exposed to the Bible?
God as this day begins, I am grateful for Your Word and a church that faithfully preaches from scripture. Even though I am no longer a child, please teach me the lessons and prepare me for the good works ahead.
