This is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life. 1 John 2:25
Jesus made a personal promise to His followers, that we would have eternal life! That’s an important promise. I remember seeing a t-shirt on a kid in a mall that read “Its not that life’s so short”… and on the back it read “its just that eternity is so long”! The point is that we are living on the shorter side of eternity. The promise is immeasurable more important that any passing pleasure the world has to offer. How should we respond to this amazing promise? We should be led and taught by God’s Spirit daily in a love relationship with Him.
Am I living the promise of eternal life now… or am I somehow waiting to begin?
God, this is eternal life, to know You and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. May I be led by You and experience again the eternal life You promise.
