Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory in the heavens.
Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. Psalm 8:1-2
I love the paraphrase of this verse which is often recited “through the mouth of babe, He has perfected praise”. In childlike faith, my songs and words of worship are perfected praise and they are a stronghold against God’s enemies and mine alike.
Do I realize the extent of God’s truth “the power of life and death are in the tongue”? Do I praise Him as often as I should? What evidence of His stronghold’s reflect that my life is one of worship?
You are majestic Lord Jesus. I praise You, for You are altogether righteous and filled with lovingkindness. How fascinating that the worship I feel and express can become a stronghold against heavenly enemies. As I walk in worship today, let’t silence the foe and avenger!
