Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. Revelation 3:19-20
I don’t like being corrected or disciplined. It doesn’t feel good. But, when God does it, its always born out of love. Think with me about this… what is the opposite of love? Hate? No, the opposite of love is apathy and indifference! Jesus had a message for the church in Laodicea. Its a message for us as well. In His great love He disciplines us. The godly response to discipline is zealous repentance. The book of Hebrews reminds us that “All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.”
How is God bringing correction into my life right now? What has been my response?
God, thank you for Your great love. As we make our way through this day, I look forward to spending it with Maureen. I pray we accomplish the tasks while we enjoy each other as the gift You intended. Would you do wonderful work in the life of the church and school today. Bless the teachers and children in wonderful ways.
