He on whom we have set our hope. And He will yet deliver us, you also joining in helping us through your prayers, so that thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf for the favor bestowed on us through the prayers of many. 2 Corinthians 1:10-11
I can’t tell you how prayer works. But I can assure you that God honors our prayers for one another. I can’t tell you how a jet engine works, but I still get on board and trust that a plane will fly.
The people in the Corinthian church often prayed for the Apostle Paul. And he prayed for them. It was a mutual benefit and Paul says it helped he and the team he was with endure the great suffering that befell them. Though there was suffering, almost to the point of death, God heard the prayers of His people and bestowed favor on Paul through their prayers.

God this morning I am thinking of Kathy Norton. Please sustain her physically and emotionally as she suffers. Extend her life by Your mercy and grace. Help her son return to see her. As the church gathers today, please buoy up those like Ruth, Bob, Gail, Denise, Glenn and Galen who have lost loved ones. Only you have the comfort we need.
