For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the righteous man shall live by faith.” Romans 1:16-17
Its funny how sometimes, new believers are more excited about sharing their faith, than older believers. I am even more appreciative today of the gospel than when I first was saved. Paul seems to be the same. The spiritual journey of the apostle Paul has now come full circle. He who learned under Gamaliel, has become a great teacher himself. Only now, he has experienced life in Christ and received personal revelations of Jesus the Messiah. He has embraced ‘The Way’ and seen the Spirit of God move upon Gentiles who believed and placed their faith in Jesus. As he introduces his letter to the Romans, he exalts the glorious gospel as he rightly should.
How much value do I place on the gospel? Is my faith still growing today?
God, I pray for opportunities to share the good news of Your great love for each of us, expressed in Jesus’ life, death and resurrection… and the difference He makes in our lives. Show me who needs that message today.
