Then she said, “Behold, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and her gods; return after your sister-in-law.”
But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or turn back from following you; for where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God.
Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried.
Thus may the Lord do to me, and worse, if anything but death parts you and me.” 18 When she saw that she was determined to go with her, she [e]said no more to her. Ruth 1:14-18

What an amazing impact Naomi made upon her daughter in law Ruth. Maybe it was the godly way she raised her boys. Perhaps it was the way she dealt with the loss and death of her own husband. Somehow, she created a bond with Ruth, that made Ruth willing to go anywhere with her, even if it meant she would not find a new husband. That’s amazing.

What godly impact am I having with my children’s spouses and future spouses?

Lord, help me be an example to my children and their spouses. Help me treat my wife in ways that show Your great love and affection. Thank you for how Maureen Husen and Stella Butler have raised their children and the example they are.
