That Your Joy May Be Complete

I love sharing good news. When my children were born, I couldn’t wait to tell everyone I knew, even strangers. I wanted to in some small way impart the joy I was experiencing with them. Right now, my newest grandson was recently born and my youngest son is getting married. I find I am sharing that news with people too. The greatest news I could share is how Jesus changed my life. John, his closest earthly friend and beloved apostle felt the same way. He said, Jesus (the Word of life… I love that) left heaven, came and John saw and heard him proclaim the truth about life. Then John invited all of us who would come later to enter into a fellowship of believers who have put their trust in Jesus. In doing so, our joy could be full and complete! Wow! Who doesn’t want to share that news? I do!

What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life— and the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us—  what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete. 1 John 1:1-4 NASB

With whom can I share the good news of eternal life? How excited am I about inviting others into this wonderful fellowship?

God, as this Sunday begins- I am excited about church service and the gospel being preached. I look forward to songs of worship, moments of communion, and fellowship with others. Would You give me eyes to see those who need the joy of the Lord? Help me always be ready to share the good news with others so that they too may have joy that is complete!
