For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord:
I will put My laws into their minds, and I will write them on their hearts.
And I will be their God, and they shall be My people. And they shall not teach everyone his fellow citizen, and everyone his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord, for all will know Me, from the least to the greatest of them.
For I will be merciful to their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.” Hebrews 8:10-12
The prophets foresaw a day when the old covenant based on the Mosaic Law would be replaced with a greater covenant, namely, that of God’s Spirit indwelling believers. His Holy law would be written upon our hearts. We could honestly say ‘I know Him’! All of this was made possible by the substitutionary death of Jesus upon the cross, from which God’s mercy and forgiveness of sin flowed to all who believe.
Am I living within this new covenant? Is there anything in me that wants to go back to the old?
I praise You God that the day the prophet longed for has now arrived! I am grateful to know You and be called Your’s! I am a citizen of heaven with others least to great. What a privilege. Oh, would you bring the two projects I am working on forward today. I pray you would bring the one great miracle to fruition this week.
