“Christianity is one generation away from extinction”. That’s what my first pastor Tim Coop preached way back in 1981 in a message called Teach or Perish! It really is our responsibility to pass on the faith to the next generation. The enemy of man’s soul knows this all to well and has often tried to extinguish the gospel. Today, it seems that Christian parents have relinquished their duty to inculcate their children in the faith- abdicating the responsibility altogether or assuming mere church attendance will suffice.

Paul, beautifully illustrated how Timothy’s heart was touched by God by the faith of his own mother Eunice and grandmother, Lois. Of all the things I could teach my kids and grandchildren, the most important is that God loves them and He sent His Son as a propitiation for sins, and that He rose from the dead for their justification, and a personal relationship with God is available to them, along with the hope of heaven.
What priority have I placed on passing on the faith to my family?
God, as this day begins, please forgive my sins and shortcomings. I am all too aware of them. I am committed to sharing my faith (The Faith once delivered) to my family. Please amplify my efforts. May a generation be literally saved in Corona! Use Crossroads in a powerful way and the Harvest Crusade this week as well. But, most of all, use every Christian parent to raise godly kids that know You and love You and serve You! Thank you for what I see in mine. Probably more my wife’s influence than mine,… I am grateful.
