Now the centurion, and those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were happening, became very frightened and said, “Truly this was the Son of God!” Matthew 27:54
The guard overseeing Jesus’ crucifixion realized that Jesus was the Son of God. This was one of those OMG moments. The circumstances surrounding his trial, scourging, and death were very different. Even the sky was darkened for three hours. What do you do when you’ve been involved in killing Jesus? That’s a question we all must ask, because it was my sin that was paid for upon the cross. I had a hand in killing Him too. I choose to receive the gift of salvation and live for Him the rest of my life.
How am I different because I realized that Jesus truly is the Son of God? When was my OMG moment?
Lord, You have and continue to make the greatest difference in my life. On this day of worship and celebration of Mother’s Day, please give me opportunities to say and do the things that please You.
