Now the war against the Philistines was severe all the days of Saul; and when Saul saw any mighty man or any valiant man, he attached him to his staff. 1 Samuel 14:52
Saul was selected for a unique role and responsibility… to be the king of Israel. He couldn’t do it alone (though at times he tried). One good thing he did was choose mighty and valiant men for his staff. That’s a good lesson for all of us. Leave the specialty work to the specialists (let the prophets and priests do their thing), surround yourself with good people. Half the fun of fishin’ is who yer fishin’ with. So, you might as well do it with good people.
Who has God put in my life and ministry? How have I shown appreciation to them?
Lord, there is so much going on today. Would you go before me solving the problems, providing the resources and demonstrating Your wonderful grace and favor again today. I am woefully inadequate, but I know Your grace is sufficient. Thank you for surrounding me with good people.
