Stop Trying To Fit In

I see things differently than I did when I did not know God in such a personal way. Ironically, people see me differently too, as they should. Have you ever felt like you didn’t fit in? Sometimes the self-serving, callous and cruel, mean and vindictive world we live is seems like a foreign country. And it is. We who are followers of Christ have been translated into a new kingdom, that of God. We’ve been adopted into His family as sons and daughters. As he transforms us in mind, body and soul, we begin the process of becoming what we ultimately will be- Christlike (like Jesus in word, thought and deed). What that looks like in its entirety I am not sure. But, I will know when He returns or I see Him face to face. In anticipation, I want to be as pure as I can be! I have some work to do. How about you?

See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.  And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. 1 John 3:1-3

What impurities in my life are impeding me from becoming who God wants me to be? How strong of a hold does worldliness have in my life?

God, as this day begins- I thank you for my dad. Its Father’s Day! May he feel appreciated and loved. I thank You that I also have a heavenly Father who will always be available to me. Though I am not worthy to be called a son of God, by faith I accept it and will walk in purity today.
