I will stand on my guard post and station myself on the rampart;
And I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me,
And how I may reply when I am reproved.

It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail.
Though it tarries, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay. Habakkuk 2:1-3
Habakkuk knew an invasion was coming from brutal enemies. In his pleadings with God, he resolved that it would be a sign of God’s rebuke and discipline upon the nation. Personally, he righted himself with the Lord, relied upon God’s grace (realizing ‘the just will live by faith’), and took his place of responsibility. This is a prescription for national repentance. We must accept our discipline, return and fall upon God’s grace and demonstrate personal responsibility and obedience.
How long, O Lord will you allow us to languish in our rebellion to You?
God, I pray You pour Your Spirit forth in this land. We need You more than any economic recovery. We need revival in our Spirit and a return to justice and truth. We are losing our way in America. Help me understand my place as I station myself on the rampart.
