Do not let kindness and truth leave you;
Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart.
So you will find favor and good repute in the sight of God and man.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:3-6
What we say and how we say it, really matters. I’m certainly not perfect and make mistakes in my communication often. By speaking with kindness, I think I receive grace from others when I am wrong. I think a good rule for us all is to speak the truth in a loving way, and leave the results to God. We can extend grace when people don’t see things our way. In doing so, we gain favor with one another.
Jesus had favor with God and man as a result of His wisdom. It didn’t mean He didn’t have critics, detractors, and haters… He certainly did.
When I have the courage to speak the truth and the patience to leave the results to God, I am showing that I trust Him. As a result I can expect Him to make my paths straight.
Are there any conversations ahead where I must speak the truth? Have I prepared in prayer so I deliver in love?
God, as this day begins there are plans You have and plans I have. Help me understand how to care for my mom and manage the commitments and opportunities as well. Sometimes I wish every day had 48 hours. So much good to do. I thank You for friends, family, and the ministry You’ve called me to. Lord Jesus, You never failed to speak the truth for it is Your very nature, help me do the same, always in a loving way… I’ll trust the result to You.
