But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. 2 Corinthians 2:14-16
My wife used to say “are you going to put on some ‘smell good’?” She was asking if I would wear cologne. Christians are to reveal Christ wherever we go. The knowledge of Him becomes known in every place by what we say and how we love, forgive and live. Some will perceive us in a very positive way (the aroma of life to life), others will not. It says more about where that person is in their relationship with God, than it does about us. I am more concerned that many Christians do not manifest the knowledge of Him in every place… they are undercover. My encouragement is to just be up front about our faith right from the beginning.
How am I revealing Christ? Is my life a fragrance that is pleasing first and foremost, to God?
Lord Jesus, as this day begins, I pray that You lead me and guide me. There are three big answers I am waiting on. I pray You will move people to act and move in favor of growing Your kingdom. I want to praise You ahead of time for showing Your kindness and power. I pray for the people I work alongside, may this be an encouraging day for all of us.
