Shouting In The Streets

shouting in the streetsWisdom shouts in the street, she lifts her voice in the square;
At the head of the noisy streets she cries out;
At the entrance of the gates in the city she utters her sayings:
How long, O naive ones, will you love being simple-minded?
And scoffers delight themselves in scoffing
And fools hate knowledge?
Turn to my reproof,
Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you;
I will make my words known to you. Proverbs 1:20-23

Wisdom is the godly application of knowledge. We all need wisdom, but we don’t always seek it as we should. Its readily available. Its almost (as the Proverb declares) as if wisdom is shouting in the street. James wrote: But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

What wisdom do I need today? Have I asked for it from God, the source of all wisdom?

Lord Jesus, You are my model in all things. You are wisdom personified. As I make my way through this week and brand new year, please reveal to me the wisdom I need. I know I will find it in Your Word and Your ways. Please make clear Your will and give me the insight and understanding to fulfill it in the world.
