Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
What does love look like? It’s multifaceted. When we express each of them, its like the reflection of light on the many facets on a diamond. The gateway to love is patience. The ability to wait reflects God’s character. He is patient and longsuffering with us. So it is with the other aspects, love is humble and develops us into the people we are becoming, not the people we once were. As love develops in us, we are able to endure provocation and wrongs suffered. Our definition of righteousness resonates with God and we take joy in truth and we become very future oriented.
Which facets of my life (and love) needs polishing and developing?
God, thank you for Your goodness and that You are love. Jesus, when I want to know what love is… I look and listen to you. May I shine for Your glory today in word, thought and deed.
