All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own.
And indeed if they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return. But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them. Hebrews 11:14-16
When I exercise faith, I am affirming the existence of God and the hope I have of being with Him one day in heaven.
The great heroes of the faith didn’t look back. They left where they were and moved to where God wanted them. In essence, they were striving for the better country that only faith leads us to… heaven itself. God is pleased with our exercise of faith and that same faith is a prerequisite to our salvation.
What step of faith does God have before me today? How willing am I to trust Him?
God as this day begins, I thank You for always showing Yourself faithful. When I have followed You, You have rewarded beyond measure. Please move in and around my life in powerful ways- confirming just how real You are to those who have yet to put their faith and trust in You. You are a strong tower in which we can run to. When I am faithless- I am grateful You remain faithful. Make me a little more like You today.
