If you seek her as silver and search for her as for hidden treasures;
Then you will discern the fear of the Lord and discover the knowledge of God.
For the Lord gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice,
And He preserves the way of His godly ones.
Then you will discern righteousness and justice and equity and every good course.
For wisdom will enter your heart and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul;
Discretion will guard you,
Understanding will watch over you,
To deliver you from the way of evil, Proverbs 2:4-12
The benefits of godly wisdom are almost too many to count: knowledge, understanding, discernment of righteousness and justice and equity and every good course. No wonder we are told to seek for her (wisdom) as if looking for silver and hidden treasure. Along the way we receive God’s protection and preservation. Amazing.
What wisdom am I seeking from God right now? Do I believe the benefits will flow from Him in the seeking?
Lord, You are my wisdom and the source of true knowledge. Please give me moment by moment the course to take and the understanding promised. Show me how to seek You in prayer and find the answers for life. Prompt me by the power of Your Spirit as well.
