I am wearing a t-shirt today that has the words ROOTED across the front. I got the shirt in Kenya, Africa. It reminds me that our lives can be rooted (attached and anchored) to many things. But, the best I could ever root my life and grow from is my faith in God through Jesus Christ. Jesus even said, that He is the vine and we are the branches. The apostle Paul would pray a prayer for the believers in Ephesus that they too would be rooted in God’s love and so much more!
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:14-19 NASB
How might I find myself strengthening the roots I have in Christ? Who could I pray this prayer for today?
God, as this day begins- to know Your love is the greatest power in my life. May all in my circle of influence (family and friends) discover the fullness of Your love. May I be able to reach out and love someone in Your name today.
