My covenant with him was one of life and peace, and I gave them to him as an object of reverence;
so he revered Me and stood in awe of My name.
True instruction was in his mouth and unrighteousness was not found on his lips; he walked with Me in peace and uprightness, and he turned many back from iniquity.
For the lips of a priest should preserve knowledge, and men should seek instruction from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts. Malachi 2:5-7
God was not pleased with the priests in Malachi’s day. They were not keeping the covenant He had made with Levi. God was to be revered and in return, Levi received the ability to give others instruction and righteousness. He walked in peace with God and he turned others from sin. This was God’s desire for every priest. Today, as believers we are all part of the priesthood, serving daily before God with our lives. But are we fulling the calling on our life an high position?
God, am I a priest in whom You delight?
You are awesome in my eyes Oh Lord! Jesus I marvel at your words and ways. I want to walk in peace with You. Use my testimony to turn many away from iniquity and to a saving knowledge of God.
