In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.
And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:11-14
God mapped out in advance a plan of salvation available to every person. That predetermined plan becomes His choosing when we believe. I love the words from the band Delirious “I have chosen to believe, believing that He’s chosen me”. The apostle Paul recognized God’s sovereign plan and his own choosing into it. He says we also are included when we heard and believed the message of truth. Upon that belief and putting our trust in Christ, God gives us the promised Holy Spirit who takes up permanent residence within us. he is a guarantee of the inheritance and full redemption we will experience.
Do I realize and appreciate the amazing plan God has for saving the world? How has my belief in God changed my life? Is His Holy Spirit operating within my life?
God, this is an amazing reminder that You are in control and have made a way for all of us to know You and to be conformed to Your image by the transforming power of Your Spirit within us. Spirit of the Living God, fall fresh on me today. Lead me. Melt me. Mold me. Use me.
