Preach The Word

preach the wordI solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom:
Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. 2 Timothy 4:1-4

Personal desires, things that sound better than they are, and outright myths are what many people want to listen to. But, sound doctrine can get boring when we are not connected to the Lord Jesus in a personal relationship of prayer and devotion. When we are, sound doctrine is as exciting as anything, because we see how wonderfully God designed life to be and the reasons for living according to His design. Like the young preacher Timothy, America needs a new crop of preachers who will preach the Word, ready at any time to reprove, rebuke, exhort with great patience and instruction. We are in that time again that Paul warned about.

Would God use me as a voice for Him? What do you have in mind?

God, I do want to preach the Word and patiently instruct a lost world in Your ways. I am going to continue to prepare by knowing Your Word, Your ways and faithfully follow You day by day. I praise You for these recent days. You have been my great help. Please show Your mercy, love and power today as we work on projects and minister with people. And if there is an opportunity to love someone in Your name, I will.
