You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men.
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:13-16
When we live out our new lives ‘in Christ’, God in heaven will be glorified. By glorified, I mean that He will be seen in ever increasing degrees as His character, love, motives, goodness, and will are revealed through us. That’s why its so important that we allow the Spirit of God to lead us daily. We also, must make a conscious decision to come out of the world and be different and distinct.
How is God shining in my life? Are there good works others can see that glorify God?
Lord Jesus, I want to be good for something in Your kingdom. I want to shine for Your glory. As this day begins, show me the works You have for me to do. Give me the courage to boldly step out, even if I am alone. For I am never really alone when serving You.
