Persecution Will Come

Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:12-15

Pastor John MacArther once remarked “Satan doesn’t always just fight against the church, sometimes he “joins it””. The Apostle Paul reminds his understudy (Timothy) that there is a cosmic battle line between good and evil, truth and error. Those who follow the truth and live according to the scriptures will be persecuted at some point and in various manners. Be ready for it. As a matter of fact, those who are deceived by error will get worse not better.

As a Christian I am to cling to what I have learned from other godly examples both from scripture and in my life. Salvation is what’s at stake! Only through the wisdom from the sacred writings (The Bible) is salvation available to all who seek Him by and through faith in Christ Jesus.

Am I avoiding error and falsehood? Have I sided in any way with the Jannes’s or Jambres’s of the world or even those who have infiltrated the church and masquerade as pastor/teachers?

God, as this day begins, I thank You for Your goodness and the scriptures. Oh, how lost I would be without them and the godly examples in my life. I think about pastors Greg Laurie, Tim Coop, Chuck Booher, Tony Allmoslecher, Guy Fox, , Raul Ries, Julia Staton, Roger Harris, Barry McMurtrie, Daryl McLeod, Dale Borgen, Rick Stedman, and so many others that have taught and exemplified what it is to live a life in Christ. Please bless each of them this day.
