Paradise Lost And Found

paradise lostThen the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken. Genesis 3:22-23

Man was driven from the garden of Eden to prevent him from eating of the tree of life, which would have made his fallen state a forever condition. God in His redemptive plan always anticipated ‘crushing the head’ of Satan with the sacrificial death and resurrection of His own Son. Man is now sent to cultivate (work) the very ground from which he was created and now stands cursed from its full potential. This is our world, partially redeemed, awaiting the full redemption at the return of Christ Jesus.

How am I living within the tension of being redeemed myself in a fallen world? Since I know good and evil, am I choosing good?

God, thank you for purpose and effectiveness yesterday. I felt like You went before me in a number of situations. Today, please fill the campus at Crossroads with Your love. May chapel day be exciting, heart-felt, and a blessing to You. Help the kids remember You are the audience. Bless our principals in many ways. Give me the growing vision of what You desire. I pray the next two big projects come to completion with Your amazing power. Have I expressed my love for You and said it recently. Lord Jesus, I love you. You are the paradise I’ve found, since You found me.
