But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption Hebrews 9:11-12
Jesus is our high priest. He settled the penalty for sin once and for all. This marvelous chapter highlights how He entered the actual ‘tabernacle’ of heaven and evermore is there to intercede for us. Knowing my sins are forgiven is the most freeing thing in all the world. How amazing that God would illustrate this reality beforehand through the Jewish sacrificial system for literally a thousand years. God’s holy law pointed to the need for a Savior. How wonderful to live on this side of the cross (history) in a personal relationship with Him!
Have I appropriated the forgiveness of God in my life? How am I offering forgiveness and freedom to others?
God, as this day begins I am grateful that Jesus died once and for all. That includes me! Who do you want me to reach out to today and love in Your name? Thank you for answering yes to my prayers yesterday. May today be the same. Work in my life and in the ministry of our schools in a powerful way. Amen.
