O Lord, in Your strength the king will be glad,
And in Your salvation how greatly he will rejoice!
You have given him his heart’s desire,
And You have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah.
For You meet him with the blessings of good things;
You set a crown of fine gold on his head.
He asked life of You, You gave it to him,
Length of days forever and ever.
His glory is great through Your salvation,
Splendor and majesty You place upon him.
For You make him most blessed forever;
You make him joyful with gladness in Your presence. Psalm 21:1-6
Sometimes I marvel at how God has answered my weak and simple prayers in magnificent fashion. I receive what I don’t deserve and my heart is filled with affection and desire to give Him all the credit. I wonder if I should bring more matters to Him? After all, Jesus said ‘ask and it will be given to you’. In this beautiful song of victory- David gives full credit to the Lord. He sees himself in partnership with God and that God’s glory in some way has been imparted to David. For David, nothing was too small or too big to bring to God. Wow! What a confidence in God’s ability and desire to bless.
What am I doing without the influence of God, simply because I have not brought myself before Him in prayer and presented the situation?
God, as this day begins, I will try to bring every project, conversation, use of time, and problem before You, before I begin. Meet me there in Your grace and power.
