This is what the Lord says,
He who appoints the sun to shine by day,
who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night,
who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar—
the Lord Almighty is his name:
Only if these decrees vanish from my sight, declares the Lord,
will Israel ever cease being a nation before me Jeremiah 31:35-36
God sees Israel as a nation, no matter what. Even when they were dispersed, He could see them coming back together. And of course in 1948 it happened to the whole world’s amazement. His covenant with every every follower of Jesus Christ is similar. Even when we stray, He longs to see us back with Him. May God’s kindness lead all backsliding believers to repentance.
Am I grateful for the forgiveness and kindness God has shown me? Who is far from God and needs to come back? How can I help them?
God, Your very nature is love. I know You long for Your children to be close to You. I pray for those who once walked close with You, but are far away. May the kindness and love expressed in Jesus Christ, draw their thoughts, heart, and lives back to You. Thank you that You are willing to forgive, no matter what.
