Misinformation

Christians have been persecuted throughout the ages and right from the very start. Our Lord and Savior was accused of the crime of ‘misinformation’. Hmmm, sounds vaguely similar to what is happening in our time. The cancel culture of His day was enforced by the ruling class religious leaders. When they brought Jesus before Pilate, they said lied about Him and His message. And yes, they brought up politics (‘forbidding us to pay taxes’). If that happened to Him, expect it of you. That way, when you make a defense for your faith and life, you will be resolved no matter what happens next.

Then the entire assembly of them set out and brought Him before Pilate.  And they began to bring charges against Him, saying, “We found this man misleading our nation and forbidding us to pay taxes to Caesar, and saying that He Himself is Christ, a King.”  Now Pilate asked Him, saying, “So You are the King of the Jews?” And He answered him and said, “It is as you say.” But Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no grounds for charges in the case of this man.”  But they kept on insisting, saying, “He is stirring up the people, teaching all over Judea, starting from Galilee, as far as this place!” Luke 23:1-5 NASB

How am I using the freedom of speech that still remains to share the life-changing message of the Son of the Living God? How do I respond when what I say is called misinformation?

God, as this day begins- the list of good works You’ve placed before me is great, great in scope and great in eternal effect. Give me the power, energy, compassion, wisdom to communicate Your love. Thank you for Your grace and truth.
