And they took offense at Him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own household.” And He did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief. Matthew 13:57-58
Jesus was not well received in Nazareth and even his own brothers had a hard time accepting Him as a rabbi and Messiah. Somehow the belief and faith of the people affected the miracles Jesus was willing to do or would have done. That’s interesting.
Do I believe for miracles? Has Jesus become so familiar to me I am giving Him less honor?
God, I know You desire an intimate relationship with every one of us. At the same time, I do not want to lose my reverence for You and expectation of powerful miracles. Thank you for always being faithful.
