But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day.
The way of the wicked is like darkness;
They do not know over what they stumble. Proverbs 4:18-19
Have you ever stubbed your toe walking about in your house at night? I have, because I didn’t want to turn on alight and disturb anyone else. It hurts, its embarrassing, and reminds me how important is is to see where I am going. I don’t see many sunrises even though I tend to get up at 6:00 AM every day. Everything starts to look clear when the sun rises, and I no longer stumble about. So it is with walking in righteousness instead of wickedness. When I walk in righteousness I avoid stumbling to a large degree. And when I do stumble, I can see how and why. The book of James reminds us that ‘we all stumble in many ways’. We could all use a little less stumbling.
Can I see and understand why I have stumbled in the past? How am I seeking to live righteously?
God, as this day begins, I want to reflect on Your goodness yesterday and say thank you. It was Kai’s big 30th birthday and he was surrounded by such a great group of young adults. His life is blessed with an amazing wife, life partner and now- baby Kennedy. What a privilege to care for my mom during the day. Then to see Eden, Keanu and Kaenan all hanging out her too was nothing short of wonderful. Today, I am asking that You would help me remember all I study for my law school final exams. Is there anything I can do for You today Lord?
