Now Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver and in gold. He went on his journeys from the Negev as far as Bethel, to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai, to the place of the altar which he had made there formerly; and there Abram called on the name of the Lord. Genesis 13:2-4
Even as Abraham (Abram) was experiencing great success materially, he remained faithful to God’s call (to move to the land he was being shown) and he continued to seek God. He “called on the name of the Lord”. What a great example of dependency, faith, and humility. He had come full circle on his journey to the place where he had been at the beginning. And now that a chapter of his story was closing, Abraham kept calling on the Lord. We should do the same, daily.
With the successes that come in life, how do I remain humble and seeking God?
God, as this day begins, I am seeking You. May I serve Your people well today with great joy, love and gentleness. Thank you that where you lead, you provide. I will keep calling on Your name.
