Jesus Had Lunch With An IRS Agent

IRSWhen Jesus came to the place, He looked up and said to him, “Zaccheus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” And he hurried and came down and received Him gladly. When they saw it, they all began to grumble, saying, “He has gone to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.” Luke 19:5-7

Zaccheus was a corrupt IRS agent. Is there anything more detestable than a person who abuses their power for personal gain? Probably not. Jesus wanted to stay at his house. Say, what? Amazing, that Jesus sees what our heart can really be, while others only see the sin on the outside. All of a sudden Zaccheus wants to repay people he ripped off, up to half his own wealth.

Does Jesus want to come to my house? How has my heart changed? How have my actions?

God, what a great day ahead. So much to be and do for You. Thank you that You meet my deepest needs. Continue to change my heart so it reflects Yours. I want to be like Jesus in word, thought and deed.
