And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ Therefore if God gave to them the same gift as He gave to us also after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God’s way?”
When they heard this, they quieted down and glorified God, saying, “Well then, God has granted to the Gentiles also the repentance that leads to life.” Acts 11:16-18
Jesus came to save everyone! Yes, its true. The gospel message is for everyone. The early followers of Jesus were Jews! That’s just the factual origin of Christianity. But, when Peter went to Joppa, God saved Gentiles through miraculous circumstances and confirmed His inclusion of them, by giving them Holy Spirit.
How open am I to sharing the gospel with everyone? Do I make distinctions or have preferences about who should or could be saved?
God, I know its true that Your love is available to everyone. What in me prevents me from being 100% open throughout the day to see those You want me to reach out to and love in Your name? Why am I sometimes almost blind? Help me remember that the gospel… its for everyone!
