Is God Waiting To Hit You On The Head?

If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? Romans 8:31-33

My wife says to be ‘justified’ is to say its ‘just-as-if-I’d’ never sinned. God treats the forgiven repentant person in that way. He attributes the righteousness of His own dear Son to us, while laying the penalty of our sin upon Him.
How crazy to think that God loves us and likes us and is for us! Many people perceived Him as a ‘cosmic meany’ waiting to drop a hammer on their head. I would certainly deserved that. But, God in His infinite love placed me in a right relationship based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus. He was for me, before I ever was for Him! And if He is for us, who can be against us? The implied answer is ‘no one’. May we walk in a confidence today, not based on self importance, pride or achievement, but rather knowing the God of the universe is right here with us.

How well do I realize the lengths God has gone to forgive me and draw me into His kingdom of light and love?

God, as this day begins, may You shine in me and through me. May I be an instrument of Your great love and encouragement. Bless your fellowship today by being the center of our conversation and the object of our worship. Make our campus inviting and holy as You draw people one by one to Yourself. Thank you for giving my mom energy and strength. Please sustain my friend Bill.
