Now during the day He was teaching in the temple, but at evening He would go out and spend the night on the mount that is called Olivet. And all the people would get up early in the morning to come to Him in the temple to listen to Him. Luke 21:37-38
Our freeways in California are crowded from very early in the morning. My commute is rather short… just down the street. I like to get up a little early to read the Bible, pray and think about what God has planned for the day. It must be very difficult for those commuters to start their day with Jesus! My heart goes out to them. My habit is to sit at my computer, read Biblegateway, record my thoughts in a blog/journal, and pray. During the last week of Jesus’ life, many people got up early to listen to Him. What a great pattern!
Do I have a hunger for God’s word? How creative and devoted am I to starting my day with Him?
God, as I start this day on the East Coast, please show me the faith of our founding fathers. At each monument and location, I pray my faith will be built up. Use me to encourage and help others.
