Honey, I’m Home

Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever.” And the twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying, “We give You thanks, O Lord God, the Almighty, who are and who were, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign. Revelation 11:15=17

I liked watching the I Love Lucy show. When Ricky would open the door and shout “Honey, I’m Home”, I knew the laughter and fun were about to start. People talk about Jesus one day returning to the earth. People have talked about that for the last 2,000 years. It’s one of the great doctrines of Christianity (I would say, even an essential teaching/belief). While I can’t say when it will happen, I can share what will happen when the seventh angel sounds his trumpet. It’s very insightful what the 24 elders do not say. They say, “O Lord God, the Almighty, Who are (is), who were (was),” … but they no longer say “who is to come”, because the Lord and Savior has returned! This triumphant day causes all of heaven to rejoice. On earth, judgment is meted out. The rulers fear. Believers rejoice and are rewarded. It is the great culmination of all of the eras of human history. His will will now be done ‘on earth as it is in heaven’… as the temple of God in heaven is opened up.

Do I anticipate the return of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? Am I prepared for that day, should it come before I go to Him?

God, as this day begins- I know the solutions to man’s problems lie with You. Government cannot save a soul or the world. There are days when I feel I want You to ‘wrap it all up’. And yet, I feel a profound calling to share Your love and message with all who may be saved. Please open doors for me to invite someone into this saving relationship with You, so that they too will anticipate Your coming.
