Hiding In Plain Sight

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. Hebrews 4:12-13

Why do we pretend to be something we are not?… or better than we actually are? Its a losing proposition! We act like the child who covers his own eyes and believes no one can see him.
God’s word has the power to cut through the facade and self-deceit and reveal to us exactly where we stand with him. Either by faith we are obediently responding to God’s love and His Son, or in disobedience we are still trying to justify ourselves based on our own merit. Its no used pretending and hiding because God sees us just the way we are. And guess what? He loves us!

Am I pretending to be something I am not? What behavior or attitude do I need to bring before God and agree with Him about what He sees in me?

God, as this day begins, oh the wonderful opportunities it presents. Would you help me be productive and effective at carrying out my ministry and loving people in Your name? Thank you for the kids and my parents. Please lead and guide each one in Your ways and will today. I pray also for my buddy Steve and his loss and for those facing surgery this week. Please be very real and close to each.
