For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. Hebrews 4:12-13
I love these passages. Somehow, some way, the Bible and the expressed word of God changes us. Its almost magical. My pastor friend Rick used to say “I don’t think what I say about the Bible changes anyone, but the Bible changes people”. That second idea about nothing hidden from God’s sight and that ultimately we will stand before Him to give account of all said and done is somewhat sobering.
How do I treat God’s Holy Word? Do I ever think what I say and do is hidden from God’s sight?
Lord, as I make my way through this day, I will be more aware of the power of Your Word. I will revere and meditate upon it. I also know that every word spoken and every act done in secret, these are all in your view. I want to be transparent before You, so I will hide in plain sight.
