All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
For thy name’s sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
What man is he that feareth the Lord? Him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. Psalm 25:10-14
I loved watching episodes of Tudor Turtle. Tudor would get himself into trouble by ignoring the advice of Mr. Wizard or just by going his own way. As the circumstances would overwhelm him, little Tudor Turtle would call out “Help Me Mr. Wizard”. Then he would be rescued from his situation and returned safely home.
In this song of rescue and repentance, David recalls the grace of God is available to a meek and humble person willing to acknowledge his sin and call out to God for forgiveness, understanding, and redemption.
How have I gone astray? Have I called out to my Heavenly Father and asked Him to rescue me?
God, how I need You to guide me and rescue me, especially when I ignore your commands or go my own way. I say and do regrettable things, yet You still love me. Thank you for pardoning my iniquity and teaching me and showing me Your secrets as well.
