For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens; who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. For the Law appoints men as high priests who are weak, but the word of the oath, which came after the Law, appoints a Son, made perfect forever. Hebrews 7:26-28
Don’t you feel wonderful when you are right with God and there is no sin between you and He? Jesus makes that all possible because He is our high priest. What kind of priest is Jesus to us? He is a high priest that is different from those appointed by the law of Moses. He Himself is pure, holy, innocent, undefiled and exalted above the heavens. So, he doesn’t need His own sins forgiven before He represents us. In all actuality, He is a perfect, forever priest that settled the matter once and forever when He shed His blood for the forgiveness of our sins on Calvary hill.
How close do I feel to God right now? Do I know Him… the real, historical, Jesus of Nazareth as my high priest?
What a difference You’ve made in my life. Today I come before You, my High Priest, would you again draw me close and be more real than ever. I pray today will be a joy for my kids and that I can reach out and love others in Your name. Please be very real and present with me throughout the day.
