The Lord is King forever and ever;
Nations have perished from His land.
O Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble;
You will strengthen their heart, You will incline Your ear to vindicate the orphan and the oppressed,
So that man who is of the earth will no longer cause terror. Psalm 10:16-18
I have been thinking quite a bit about the blessings God has for the humble in heart. The Psalmist says ‘God hears the desire of the humble’. How wonderful to know that God inclines His ear to understand how we feel and what we want, when we are humble. He alone has the power to fulfill those desires, even to cause a nation to perish.
Am I humble today? What prideful thoughts and opinions of myself are creeping in?
God, I am reminded how amazing You are and how small I am. I humbly ask You to remove nations opposed to Your will. Would You again show Your mighty power. You have been doing some wonderful things in my life and ministry. Today, I am asking for relational favor as I reach out to my dad and my mom in particular. Help me honor them.
