For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. Ephesians 2:8-10
Paul says that God, motivated by love, extended His grace and unmerited favor to us, and saved us. We are saved, not by anything we do to earn it, but of Him who even gave us the faith necessary to respond. He didn’t save as the consummation of his plan, he did it as the beginning of His plan. Now I can walk through life using the gifts, time, and talent he has provided to do things that really matter (good works) which He, as a master architect, prepared ahead of time. He is leading me from grace to good works.
What does He have ahead for me today? How can I, by faith, walk in the grace of God and do the good works of God?
Lord Jesus, my model in all things. Oh, You have blessed me. You really have given me everything I need to live this life in a godly way. But, I need Your help and power and love to flow through my life. Prepare me this morning for all the interactions and conversations ahead. Thank you for my wife and partner in life.
