conversion convictionAnd they lifted up their voices and wept again; and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth clung to her.

Then she said, Behold, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and her gods; return after your sister-in-law. But Ruth said, Do not urge me to leave you or turn back from following you; for where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God. Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. Thus may the Lord do to me, and worse, if anything but death parts you and me. Ruth 1:14-17

Something wonderful happened to Ruth through her marriage to Naomi’s son. Ruth found a relationship with the true and living God. One evidence of her conversion is she desired to live with God’s people, even though it would have been safer to return to her own mother. It was a conviction worth dying for.

What evidence is there in my life of my conversion to Christ? What convictions do I hold?

God, I will follow You wherever You lead. Your people are my people. And Jesus, You are my example in all things. You are my Lord. I pray there is ample evidence of my conversion. The convictions I now hold are manifold, may they be consistent with Your heart, Your will, and Your ways.
