Diversification

I am willing to take risks. I am not fool-hearted, but neither am I stuck in analysis paralysis nor unwilling to move forward because I might fail. I have failed at many endeavors, but learned so much. Some will have many regrets- I hope to have fewer. There is risk to everything and rewards as well. Solomon identified the idea of diversifying our endeavors so all our eggs are not one basket. After all, who knows how the wind will blow and which direction a tree will fall because of it?

Cast your bread on the surface of the waters, for you will find it after many days. Divide your portion to seven, or even to eight, for you do not know what misfortune may occur on the earth.  If the clouds are full, they pour out rain upon the earth; and whether a tree falls toward the south or toward the north, wherever the tree falls, there it lies.  Ecclesiastes 11:1-3 NASB

How much of my life is monolithic? Are all my eggs in one basket? How can I develop multiple streams of income? Do I only get my identity from one area in life?

God, as this day continues- I am late in writing my thoughts. But, I have been enjoying Your great help in ministry today. Wow! What a day! Would you help me build a diversified life, not just financially, but help me be a Renaissance man in many ways. I want to be interesting to my grandchildren, fun and caring to my wife, an inspiration and help to my children, support to co-workers, and a friend like a brother, and blessing to my brothers, dad, and entire family.
