Confidence

We will know by this that we are of the truth, and will assure our heart before Him in whatever our heart condemns us; for God is greater than our heart and knows all things. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight. 1 John 3:19-22

The beloved apostle John, reminds us that when we enter this relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ, we are ushered into a life of truth and love. We find a confidence in our prayer life that is beyond the doubts created by our own hearts. Day after day, we find ourselves walking in a manner that is pleasing to Him, obedient to His commands and drawing us into a rich and effective prayer life.

Continuing with Jonathan Edwards’ 70 resolutions… #3 Resolved, if ever I shall fall and grow dull, so as to neglect to keep any part of these Resolutions, to repent of all I can remember, when I come to myself again.

I will make it a conscious effort to confess sin and turn from it as soon as I am aware, conscious or sense conviction.

Lord, I pray that Your truth and love will be operative in my life. Help me accomplish the tasks before me today and enjoy the life You’ve given. I pray for each in my family to find one more day of rest and relaxation before returning to work tomorrow.
